I’m a local guitar instructor in Gresham with over 25 years of playing experience and over 10 years of teaching in the Portland/Gresham area.

Here’s how it all started.

When I was a kid interested in music, my dad brought me an old beat-up guitar he found somewhere. It was the best day ever and I immediately got a book of folk songs from the library and started my journey.

I soon studied classical piano, but composition was what I what passionate about. Along the way I picked up acoustic, worship, rock, blues, metal, and classical guitar. I went to music school at Portland Bible College for a couple years and now play regularly at Southeast Christian Center.

Over 10 years ago I set up shop as a guitar instructor in Gresham at a neighbor’s studio. When students started to get it, it was the best thing in the world, especially when they worked hard. I found a new joy in not just playing the music, but sharing the music, and passing it on to the next group of musicians. This was guitar teaching.

Then Covid hit and I took the business online, then I got married and moved to Los Angeles with my beautiful wife Valeria with 3 kids. I came back in 2023 and the world was open once again. I worked at the airport and we moved into Fairview, Oregon and we had a baby.

And now in 2026 I’ve started as a guitar instructor once again in the Fairview area of Gresham, Oregon.

Valeria is from Brazil and is a businesswoman of her own. She is now an influencer on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok with her videos of cooking, family, and life in the USA. During the lesson she is usually cooking, watching the baby, and serving coffee to parents.

Throughout years of experience, I always try to go back to basics when I teach. I’m patient with new students and help them through the learning process step-by-step, giving them fun songs to learn to keep them motivated.
